Mint condition: our checking and packaging standard
At Mint2Play, "Mint/Near Mint" is not a marketing word. It is a condition and presentation standard for single cards, and a packaging approach designed to protect items during shipping.
Our approach in 3 principles
- Clarity: the card presentation must match what buyers expect.
- Protection: packaging is adapted to format and risk (single, booster, display, ETB).
- Consistency: a repeatable process that reduces mistakes and surprises.
What we check on single cards
- Corners and edges: whitening, dings, impacts.
- Surface: micro-scratches, scuffs, pressure marks.
- Holo area (if any): visible scratches and surface defects.
- Cleanliness: dust, fingerprints, residues.
Packaging standard for single cards
The goal is to reduce bending risk, internal movement and humidity exposure. Protection is adjusted to the card format and value.
- Inner protection: sleeve (and extra protection when needed).
- Stability: toploader or semi-rigid holder to prevent flexing.
- Outer protection: reinforced packaging consistent with the shipment.
Packaging standard for sealed products
- Goal: protect corners, avoid crushing and reduce friction on seals.
- Reinforcement: packaging adapted to volume and weight.
- Display protection: optional acrylic protectors may be available via accessories.
